The Northport City Council meets every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
There is a City Council Pre-Meeting that takes place in the Council Conference Room at Northport City Hall at 5:00 pm. This meeting is for the City Council to meet and discuss anything that relates to the City of Northport. The City Council will not vote on anything during the Pre-Meeting. It is for information gathering and discussion only.
The City Council moves to the City Council Chambers at 5:30 pm for their scheduled City Council Meeting. The agenda for the meeting is available here. All actions that require a vote of the City Council will take place during this meeting.
Both the Pre-Meeting and City Council meetings are open to the public, as required by the State of Alabama's Open Meetings Act.
Anyone wanting to address the City Council must do so by filling out the Request to appear before the Northport City Council form located here. The form must be completed and submitted to the City Administrator before noon on the Wednesday prior to the regular Council meeting. You will be notified prior to the meeting whether or not your request has been approved and placed on the Council Agenda.
