Neighborhood Watch
A Neighborhood Watch Program is a community of residents who, with the assistance of law enforcement, learn how to discourage, deter and prevent crimes in their areas. Such crimes could include burglaries, vehicle thefts or break-ins, drug activity, vandalism, graffiti, gang activity and more. These programs are generally started by residents in an area and/or HOA Organizations that feel additional watchful eyes are needed to protect their community. The Northport Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division provides assistance in educating those involved in Neighborhood Watch Programs. The principle of the Neighborhood Watch Program is to bring communities together with the police to achieve the common goal of preventing crime.
