Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering Division's responsibilities are to develop and oversee all capital improvement projects, maintain all infrastructure records and to review new and future project plans. The goals of the division are to deliver projects on time, establish a list of project priorities and schedules, and respond quickly and effectively to all our customer's concerns.

Other responsibilities of the Civil Engineering Division:

• Coordinate utility relocations and ROW permits
• Coordinate with Federal, State, and County officials
• Design and Plan preparation for minor public works projects
• Engineering and surveying support for other departments
• Excavation and Land Disturbance permitting
• Floodplain Management
• Maintain Construction specifications and standards
• Mapping and GIS data collection
• Municipal infrastructure inventory and long-range planning
• New construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of municipal infrastructure
• Provides Project/Construction Management for City projects
• Review of building permits and development plans to ensure that they are in compliance with City codes, ordinances and regulations
• Right-of-way acquisition
• Utility locations
