The City of Northport strongly encourages all individuals to follow the Statewide Covid-19 Health Order for Alabama.  A mandatory mask requirement went into effect Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. and has been extended until January 22, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.

NOTICE:   Due to the increased numbers of COVID-19 cases in our area, the Northport Police Department is temporarily suspending our fingerprinting services.


ANNOUNCEMENT - Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The City of Northport will be closed Monday, January 18, 2021, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Monday's garbage, trash and recycling routes will be picked up on Thursday, January 21, 2021.  Please help us spread the word.


Council Meeting Date Change

The second regularly scheduled meeting for January has been changed in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.  Our next Council meeting will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 5:30 p.m.  There will be no pre-meeting.


Public Input Meeting Rescheduled

The Public Input meeting for the Aquatic Park portion of the feasibility study has been rescheduled to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21st.  The format will also change to a fully virtual meeting.  Participants must register by filling out the form in the link below.  Once received, you will be sent a link to the webinar.



Business Licenses are Renewable Online!

Business licenses are renewable from January 1st through February 15th.  To renew your business license online please visit our portal at https://www.citizenserve.com/northport.  For login information refer to the Business License Renewal form that was sent in the mail.

Road Closures

The southern end of Main Avenue will be closed to thru traffic, including pedestrian traffic, beginning Monday, January 18th.  Access will be maintained to local businesses and residences.  The closure is expected to last between eight and ten weeks.  To view a map of the road closure click here: https://files.cityofnorthport.org/media/8847628_main-avenue---road-closure-to-thru-traffic.pdf.

Twin Oaks Road will be closed until further notice beginning Friday, June 5, 2020, at 8:30 a.m.  This closure will last several months due to repairs to a culvert. Please visit https://www.cityofnorthport.org/public-notices to view a map for the closure location and to make plans to detour around this portion of Twin Oaks Road.
