Councilman Bart Harper

Personal Profile:

  • Married to the former Tammy Stephenson
  • They have two children, Hunter and Savannah
  • He has lived on his family's farm in Northport for over 40 years
  • He is retired from the Tuscaloosa County System as a teacher at Hillcrest High School
  • Bart is also the owner of Harper Farms in the Flatwoods community

Education:

  • Bart is a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School
  • He received his degree from the University of Alabama (Bachelor of Science in Education)

Areas of Interest:

  • Keeping neighborhoods CLEAN and SAFE
  • Being involved in schools
  • Support existing businesses and promoting new business to Northport

Poll Location: Flatwoods Elementary School

  • Areas located west of Highway 43 and north of McFarland Blvd. to Hargrove Creek and south to the Black Warrior River. This district includes Biscayne Hills, Briarcliff, Buckhead, Clear Creek Colony, and Carter Drive Subdivisions.

    • Councilman Harper was elected to the City Council in October, 2008.
    He is serving his first term.
