
Dispatcher Christy Duncan COMMUNICATIONS The Communications division of the Northport Police Department is the backbone of operations for emergency services within the city. Most often the first person a Citizen will speak to in times of emergency, the Dispatcher has the responsibility of gathering critical information in an emergency and relaying it to responding emergency services personnel. Northport Police Dispatchers handle communications for both the Police Department and Northport Fire Department. In addition, the communications division serves as a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Tuscaloosa County E911 and is responsible for routing emergency calls in the surrounding jurisdiction to the proper response agency.
