The Finance Department is responsible for the proper accounting of all City of Northport funds. The "Revenue Division" within the department is charged with the collection and record maintenance of the City's various taxes and license fees, as well as certain funds received from outside sources, such as the State of Alabama and Tuscaloosa County.
The department is lead by Marcus W. Powell III, Finance Director, and his staff of five employees dedicated to the proper administration of the City of Northport's tax and license fee ordinances.
