The Public Works Department is a combination of several divisions. Street maintenance, Building Services, Garbage, Trash & Recycling. Business Hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. After hour emergencies call the Northport Water Treatment Plant at (205) 333-3017 and they will contact one of our supervisors.

We strive to keep the city streets & property clean and well maintained. Our work schedules include replacing damaged street markers and regulatory signs on City Streets, paving and patching all City streets, mowing grass along city right-of –ways, litter control, mosquito control, maintenance of sanitary sewer system, water system and storm sewer system. We also do maintenance on all City owned buildings.
